Abstract
A method for detecting the presence of an object in a road traffic situation, comprising the following steps: Capturing a road traffic situation with a camera, wherein the camera captures an image (30) in the RGB color space. Evaluating the image (30) captured by the camera, namely to determine a potentially present object (31) in the image (30) captured by the camera. Extracting an image section (33) in the RGB color space from the image (30) captured by the camera, wherein the image section (33) includes the potentially present object (31). Generating several different inverse image sections (34) of the extracted image section (33), wherein in each inverse image section (34) at least one of the primary colors of the RGB color space is inverted. Evaluating the generated inverse image sections (34), namely to determine the potentially present object (31) in the respective inverse image section.The presence of the object (31) can only be detected if the same potentially present object is identified when evaluating the image (30) captured by the camera in the RGB color space and when evaluating the generated inverse image sections (34) of all generated inverse image sections (31).
