Abstract

The invention relates to a battery module (1) with a module housing (2) and a stack of prismatic battery cells (3) which are clamped in the module housing (2) by means of a clamping device (4). The battery module according to the invention is characterized in that the clamping device (4) comprises spring elements (5) to exert tension on the battery cells (3) in the stacking direction, wherein at least one intermediate plate (6) is arranged between the spring elements (5) and the stack of battery cells (3) and / or between adjacent battery cells (3), which is configured as a deformation element to deform plastically above the set spring tension of the spring elements (5).
