Abstract

The invention relates to an aspirating smoke detector and a pipe connection and receiving device for a smoke aspiration system with intake pipes and distributed intake openings. The aspirating smoke detector (1) comprises at least one smoke sensor, a fan, and a control unit within a housing. The fan draws room air into the housing through air inlet and / or outlet openings in the housing and via intake pipes with multiple intake openings, supplies it to the smoke sensor, and can then expel it from the housing. To prevent insects from entering, an externally accessible insertion device is provided, which has a rim on three sides and an insertion opening on the fourth side. An easily replaceable insect screen comprises an insect screen stretched within a frame designed as a slider and which can be inserted or removed through the opening.
