Abstract
The invention relates to a method for determining the ash load of a particulate filter (36) in an exhaust system (20) of an internal combustion engine (10).The procedure comprises the following steps: - Determining an exhaust back pressure (pR) for an empty, new particulate filter (36) as a reference value (RW), - Determining a particle entry into the particulate filter (36) from operating parameters of the internal combustion engine (10) using a soot particle formation model, - Determining an entry of oil ash (69) from a determined oil consumption of the internal combustion engine (10) using an ash model, - Regeneration of the particulate filter (36) when a need for regeneration of the particulate filter (36) is detected by a measured differential pressure (Δp) across the particulate filter (36) and / or by a loading model of the particulate filter (36), - Adjusting the reference value (RW) for the exhaust back pressure (pR) for the empty particulate filter in a differential pressure model and / or a loading model for the particulate filter (36) depending on the determined oil consumption of the internal combustion engine (10).The invention further relates to a computer program code (76), a control unit (70) and an internal combustion engine (10) for carrying out such a method.
