Abstract

The invention relates to a system (1) for determining the tread depth (10) of a vehicle tire (2), comprising a detection device (3) for detecting a surface (4) of the vehicle tire (2) and comprising a first evaluation device (5), wherein the first evaluation device (5) is provided for generating a three-dimensional model of the surface (4) of the vehicle tire (2) detected by the detection device (3) as a function of the detection of the surface (4) of the vehicle tire (2) by the detection device (3), and comprising a second evaluation device (6), wherein the second evaluation device (6) is provided for determining the tread depth (10) of the vehicle tire (2) as a function of the three-dimensional model of the surface (4) of the vehicle tire (2) detected by the detection device (3) generated by the first evaluation device (5).wherein the detection device (3) is a color sensor device (3), wherein the color sensor device (3) is provided for generating an additive color space recording of the surface (4) of the vehicle tire (2), and wherein the first evaluation device (5) is provided for generating the three-dimensional model of the surface (4) of the vehicle tire (2) detected by means of the detection device (3) as a function of the additive color space recording of the surface (4) of the vehicle tire (2).
