A method (100) for providing a control pattern for controlling an active discharge of a capacitor (21) is disclosed, comprising: obtaining an electrical voltage value (110) of a capacitor circuit of the capacitor (21); obtaining an electrical current value (120) of a discharge circuit for actively discharging the capacitor (21); and providing the control pattern (130) determined on the basis of the voltage value and the current value.
