Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for starting a vehicle from a standstill. The method according to the invention comprises several steps. In a first step, an electronic starting gate (eFO) control element is activated if it is detected that the vehicle is stationary. In a further process step, it is determined whether the driver of the vehicle is actuating the eFO control element or not. If actuation is detected, the brake pressure on a rear axle of the vehicle is increased, the brake pressure on a front axle of the vehicle is decreased, and a clutch in a drivetrain of the vehicle is opened. In a further process step, it is determined whether the driver has fully depressed the accelerator pedal, i.e., whether the accelerator pedal is depressed to its limit. If this is the case, an optimal engine speed for starting is set. It is also determined whether the driver releases the eFO control element.If both conditions are met, the brake pressure on the rear axle and, if present, on the front axle is completely reduced as quickly as possible and the clutch in the drivetrain is closed.
