Abstract

The invention relates to a device (100) for modulating AC voltage signals, wherein the device (100) comprises at least three level stages (10, 20, 30), each level stage (10, 20, 30) having at least one semiconductor switch (S1, S23, S4), and wherein the device (100) is configured to perform at least the following steps: - Detecting at least one operating parameter (P1, P2, P3), - Determining a through-resistance (R1, R23, R4) for each semiconductor switch (S1, S23, S4) as a function of the detected at least one operating parameter (P1, P2, P3), - Modulating at least one AC voltage signal using the at least three level stages (10, 20, 30), wherein a switching duration of the respective semiconductor switch (S1, S23, S4) is determined as a function of the determined through-resistance (R1, R23, R4) of the semiconductor switch (S1, S23, S4).
