Device and method for registering a shape-sensing instrument

Abstract

The invention relates to a device and a method for the mutual registration of a shape-capturing instrument and an X-ray imaging system, as well as an X-ray system comprising a corresponding device. The device according to the invention comprises a registration unit, wherein the registration unit is configured such that the shape-capturing instrument can be inserted into it until a registration position is reached. The spatial relative position of the registration position with respect to the X-ray system can be kept unchanged, at least temporarily, and is assumed to be known for the method according to the invention.Furthermore, a detection device is included which is designed to detect when the form-detecting instrument reaches the registration position, wherein a registration signal can be generated by means of the detection device when it detects that the form-detecting instrument has reached the registration position.
