Abstract

In various embodiments, a method for generating digital proof of greenhouse gas pre-compensation for a motor vehicle (F) is described, comprising: generating (S1) a digital token (WM) for the vehicle (F), which contains an identifier of the motor vehicle (F) and an indication of a greenhouse gas pre-compensated mileage for the vehicle (F); and storing the digital token (WM) in a database (W1). In a further aspect, a method for maintaining digital proof of greenhouse gas pre-compensation for a motor vehicle (F) is described in various embodiments, wherein the digital proof includes the digital token (WM) for the vehicle (F).
