Abstract
The present invention relates to a lidar device for detecting the environment of a vehicle, wherein the lidar device comprises: a laser light source (40) for emitting laser light; a detector (10) comprising a detector surface (20) for converting received laser light (48, 50, 52, 54, 56) into electrical signals; a scanning device with a rotatable polygon prism (42) for scanning the environment, wherein the polygon prism is designed to direct laser light (46) emitted for scanning in different directions into the environment and laser light (48, 50, 52, 54, 56) reflected from the environment and received by the lidar device from different directions towards the detector. According to the invention, two different surfaces of the polygon prism are used to direct the emitted and received laser light. (42) are provided as reflective surfaces (43, 45).
