Abstract

First method for resuming a session for encrypted communication using a key, wherein checking (424) whether information about a previous session, in particular a status according to which a previous session with the key existed, is available, wherein the previous session with the key is resumed (426) if the information is available, and wherein, in response to a message received in the resumed session for maintaining encrypted communication, a message confirming the use of the key is sent (432).Second method for resuming a session for encrypted communication using a key, wherein a message to maintain encrypted communication is sent (428), wherein, if a message confirming the use of the key is received in reply to the message to maintain encrypted communication (432), the previous session using the key is resumed.
