Methods for configuring a microcontroller

Abstract

A method for configuring a microcontroller (100) connected to a host system (106) via a data exchange connection, comprising the following steps: a) storing (I) an image of a configuration to be achieved in the form of configuration data (104) and configuration routines (102) in a flash memory (108) of the microcontroller (100), wherein the configuration data (104) and the configuration routines (102) are stored separately in the flash memory (108); b) transferring (II) and storing (III, IV) the configuration data (104) in configuration registers (112) by means of a bootloader (116) for configuring the microcontroller (100); and after configuration, deleting the configuration routines (102) from the flash memory (108).
