Abstract
The following descriptions relate to a coolant circuit system for regulating the temperature of a drive component of a motor vehicle, comprising: a coolant circuit (10) with a coolant; a first heat exchanger (12); a second heat exchanger (14); a third heat exchanger (16); a first pump device (24) and a first valve unit (28); a control unit for model-based predictive control (MPC) of the coolant circuit (10) using an MPC algorithm;wherein the heat exchangers (12, 14, 16, 18, 20) can be modeled by the control unit into linear models within the coolant circuit (10) using their inlet and outlet temperatures, their representative state temperatures, their heat outputs and / or their power losses, and can be combined into a linearized overall model, wherein the control unit distinguishes between at least two separate valve positions and defines an independent linearized overall model for each valve position for controlling the coolant circuit (10), wherein the control unit selects an overall model from a plurality of overall models of the coolant circuit (10) that is suitable for setting a predetermined operating temperature of a drive component of the motor vehicle.
