Baling press with a binding device and method for tying a baled bale

Abstract

The invention relates to a baler (100; 100') for compacting material (10) and a method for tying a bale (16). The baler comprises: - a press housing (12) surrounding a press chamber (11) and - a press plate (13) movable within the press housing (12), which can be driven by one or more hydraulic cylinders (49). A disadvantage of known balers is that tying is generally done largely manually using special binding wires made of spring steel.In order to at least partially automate the binding process and to enable the use of cost-effective binding agents, it is proposed that the baling press (100; 100') has at least one binding device (15) for binding a bale (16) located in the press chamber (11) with a binding agent (20), wherein: - the binding device (15) comprises at least one first drive unit (17) with a catching belt (18) mounted in or on the first drive unit (17), - the catching belt (18) comprises a free end (21) and a coupling point (22) arranged thereon for the direct or indirect attachment of a binding agent (20), - the press chamber (11) comprises a circumferential guide device (23; 23') with at least two sections (32, 33, 34, 35) movable relative to each other.
