Abstract

Examples include a method (10) for authenticating authorization to enable a vehicle function, the method (10) comprising: detecting (11) a light signal by means of an LED element (4, 4') of the vehicle; and enabling (12) the vehicle function when the light signal corresponds to a predetermined light signal. Furthermore, the use of an LED element (4, 4') of a vehicle as a sensor for authenticating authorization to enable a vehicle function, wherein a visible light signal from a user terminal device (2) is detected (11) by means of the LED element (4, 4'), and a computer program product are proposed.
