Method and device for controlling the braking force of a vehicle

Abstract

According to the present invention, a method and a device for controlling the brake force distribution between a first and a second brake arrangement of a vehicle are claimed. A pedal input, representing the actuation of the accelerator pedal, is detected. Furthermore, a drive input, representing the drive force of the engine, is detected. To determine the extent to which a holding force is necessary for the vehicle, and how large this holding force should be, a slope force of the vehicle is determined, for example, from the gradient of the road surface. Depending on the pedal input, the drive input (or, more generally, the engine information), and the slope force (or holding force), a distribution of the brake force between the first and second brake arrangements is subsequently determined and controlled accordingly.
