Abstract

A knob cylinder (30) for a lock is proposed, comprising a cylinder housing (1), a rotatable cylinder core (2), and a cylinder output (3) that can be coupled via a coupling device (31). The coupling device (31) has a motor (4), a magnetic rotor (5), and a coupling element (6), wherein the motor (4) moves the magnetic rotor (5) between an engaged and a disengaged position such that the coupling element (6) engages the cylinder output (3) in the engaged position and disengages the cylinder output (3) in the disengaged position. To enable a reliable and tamper-proof coupling, it is proposed that at least two pairs of magnets (8, 9) act between the magnetic rotor (5) and the coupling element (6), each generating a compressive force for engagement and a tensile force for disengagement on the coupling element (6).
