Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle (2) comprising a body (4), a chassis (6), a number of environmental sensors (8), and a data processing device (10), wherein, when the motor vehicle (2) is parked, sensor data is generated by means of the environmental sensors (8), wherein the sensor data is evaluated by means of the data processing device (10) so that the existence of a predetermined condition is detected, namely that an object (14) is positioned next to the motor vehicle (2) or that an object (14) is approaching the motor vehicle (2), wherein the chassis (6) is adjustable and is adjusted in a controlled manner by the data processing device (10) when the existence of the predetermined condition is detected, and wherein the chassis (6) is adjusted such that the body (4) is moved from a first orientation to a second orientation relative to the ground.
