Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for operating a powertrain (1) of a motor vehicle (2). A current dead time (tT) for a torque reduction of an internal combustion engine (3) is determined and provided by a first control device (4). A second control device (6) detects the dead time (tT) and sends a request for a torque reduction of the internal combustion engine (3) via a data transmission device (5) to an engine control device (7) of the powertrain (1), taking the dead time (tT) into account. The engine control device (7) implements the request. After a delay of the dead time (tT), the second control device (6) then performs a control operation. The invention further relates to a powertrain (1) and a motor vehicle (2).
