Abstract

An electric motor (1), in particular a camshaft adjuster (29), has a multi-part housing (2) comprising a first, cup-shaped housing component (3) made of sheet metal including a flange (15) and a second housing component (4) made of light metal covering the first housing component (3), wherein a stator-rotor assembly (5) is housed in the first housing component (3) and associated control electronics (14) are housed in the second housing component. The flange (15) of the first housing component (3) lies at least partially in a common plane (E) with a flange (16) of the second housing component (4).
