Abstract

Method for manufacturing a battery (1), in particular a vehicle battery, comprising the process steps of: - providing a housing body (2) having a receiving recess (3), - providing a plurality of energy storage cells (4) which are connected to one another via a connecting device (5) to form a cell assembly (6), - inserting the cell assembly (6) into the receiving recess (3), - introducing a foaming material (25) into a cavity (7, 7') of the cell assembly (6) and / or into a cavity (7, 7') arranged between the cell assembly (6) and a housing wall of the housing body (2), - arranging a molding tool (8) having a shaping surface (9) which forms a surface section of the foaming material (25) during a foaming process of the foaming material (25), - supporting the cell assembly (6) during the introduction of the foaming material (25) into a cavity (7, 7').7') and / or during the foaming process of the foaming material (25) by means of a support device (10), wherein the support device (10) supports the cell assembly (6) against the molding tool (8) and / or against the housing body (2).
