Two-stroke engine and hand-held work tool

Abstract

A two-stroke engine (1) comprises a cylinder (2) with a cylinder bore (25) in which a piston (5) is mounted to reciprocate, the piston (5) defining a combustion chamber (3) formed in the cylinder (2), a crankshaft (7) rotatably mounted in a crankcase (4) about an axis of rotation (8) and driven by the piston (5), and an intake port (12). The intake port (12) is divided over at least a portion of its length into at least one mixture port (14) and at least one air port (13). The mixture port (14) and the air port (13) are curved over at least a portion of their length in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation (8) of the crankshaft (7) downstream of a fuel supply device (15).The mixture channel (14) runs parallel to the axis of rotation (8) of the crankshaft (7) downstream of the fuel supply device (15) up to a distance of 5 mm from the cylinder bore (25), either in a straight line or by a right-hand bend. The air channel (13) runs in the same direction downstream of the fuel supply device (15) up to a distance of 5 mm from the cylinder bore (25), either in a straight line or by a left-hand bend.
