Abstract

The invention relates to a cooking appliance for preparing food, comprising a cooking chamber (1) designed to hold the food and an installation chamber (2) separated from the cooking chamber (1) by a partition (3), wherein the installation chamber (2) is bounded by the partition (3) and a plurality of outer walls, and comprising a ventilation module, wherein an electric motor (10) of the ventilation module is provided in the installation chamber (2) and a ventilation wheel (21) of the ventilation module is provided in the cooking chamber (1), and wherein a shaft (11) of the ventilation module, which carries a rotor (13) of the electric motor (10) and the ventilation wheel (21), extends from the installation chamber (2) through the partition (3) into the cooking chamber (1), wherein the electric motor (10) is a self-ventilated electric motor, a cooling fan wheel (16) rotating with and held on the shaft (11), and a fan surrounding the rotor (13). stator (14) provides, wherein the cooling fan wheel (16) provides a fresh air flow (8) through the electric motor (10) and / or along an outer surface thereof for cooling the installation space (2), such that the fresh air is supplied through a fresh air supply opening (7) provided on an outer wall of the installation space (2), then flows through the electric motor (10), then exits the electric motor (10) into the surrounding installation space (2), and escapes through at least one outlet opening (6). The invention further relates to the use of a forced-draft BLDC motor for driving a ventilation wheel (21) of a commercial cooking appliance.
