Abstract

The invention relates to a switching device (10) with a mechanical switch (26). The mechanical switch (26) comprises a first busbar (28) with a U-shaped section (32) comprising two first legs (34) parallel to each other and lying in a common plane (36), and a second leg (38) perpendicular to these, one of the first legs (34) having a first fixed contact (44) and the other having a first current connection (40). Furthermore, the mechanical switch (26) comprises a second busbar (50) with a first movable contact (54) which is associated with the first fixed contact (44) and is movably mounted with respect to it in an opening direction (52). The plane (36) and the opening direction (52) are tilted relative to each other.
