Abstract

The invention relates to a switching device (12) with a housing (14) in which a mechanical switch (22) is arranged, the mechanical switch having a contact bridge (32) movably mounted in an opening direction (40) with a moving contact (36) and a terminal (24) with a fixed contact (28). The mechanical switch (22) is designed such that when the contact bridge (32) moves in the opening direction (40), the moving contact (36) is spaced away from the fixed contact (28), and when the contact bridge (32) moves against the opening direction (40), it moves closer to the fixed contact (28). The switching device (12) further comprises an electromechanical actuator (42) connected to the contact bridge (32) and a return spring (54) by means of which the contact bridge (32) is subjected to a spring force against the opening direction (40).
