Abstract

The invention relates to a steering system (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising a split wheel carrier (10) which has an outer wheel carrier (14) attached to a strut (12) and an inner wheel carrier (16) rotatably mounted in the outer wheel carrier (14), wherein the inner wheel carrier (16) is rotatable about a predetermined axis, a motor-gearbox unit (18) configured to generate a relative rotation between the inner wheel carrier (16) and the outer wheel carrier (14), wherein the motor-gearbox unit (18) is arranged on the inner wheel carrier (16) or on the outer wheel carrier (14), and a support device (20) which supports the inner wheel carrier (16) relative to a fixed point (17) of the motor vehicle, in particular the chassis.
