Abstract

A rotor for an electrically excited electric machine is described, wherein the rotor comprises a rotor body with N salient poles, with N>1, and electrically conductive windings, each forming a winding head at the end faces of the rotor body. The rotor body has at least one permanent magnet at each salient pole, wherein the individual permanent magnets have a reduced axial length compared to the rotor body, such that the permanent magnets do not extend to the end faces of the rotor body.
