Abstract

The invention relates to a cannula assembly for use in regional anesthesia, comprising: a cannula tube extending longitudinally between a distal cannula end and a proximal cannula end and having a distal cannula tip, and a cannula connector arranged at the proximal cannula end. The cannula tip exhibits increased echogenicity when it comes into contact with a contrast medium or saline solution. The invention further relates to a medical system and a method for determining the position of a cannula tip in an ultrasound image.
