Abstract

The invention relates to a transport device for conveying a metallic good in a conveying direction on a conveying line, in particular for conveying a metallic strip with a thickness greater than or equal to 15 mm, the transport device comprising: • a roller conveyor with a plurality of rollers for the rolling transport of the metallic good in the conveying direction on the conveying line; • along the conveying direction, in particular a lateral guide device comprising at least one lateral guide element, in particular wherein the lateral guide element is arranged on at least one side of the transport device; and • a cooling device for cooling the metallic good with a coolant, wherein the cooling device is configured to cool the metallic good by a volume-averaged average temperature of greater than or equal to 20°C, preferably by greater than or equal to 40°C and particularly preferably by greater than or equal to 60°C.
