Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a drive system (9) for a motor vehicle (1) having several wheel axles (2, 3), wherein a first of the wheel axles (2, 3) is driven at least temporarily via a transmission (12) by means of a first drive unit (10) having several drive units (14, 15), and a second of the wheel axles (2, 3) is driven by means of a second drive unit (11). It is provided that, in a first operating mode, the first wheel axle (2) is driven temporarily by means of a first of the drive units (14, 15) designed as an electric traction motor and is decoupled from a second of the drive units (14, 15), and, in a second operating mode, the first drive unit (14) is decoupled from the first wheel axle (2) and driven by means of the second drive unit (15) to provide electrical energy.The invention further relates to a drive system (9) for a motor vehicle (1) having several wheel axles (2, 3) and to a computer program product.
