Abstract

An electrical connector contact (1) comprises a body (10) having at least two contact segments (11) separated from each other by a slot (12) and together defining a plug-in opening (15) into which a mating contact (2) can be inserted along a plug-in direction (E), wherein the at least two contact segments (11) are resilient radially relative to the plug-in direction (E) when the mating contact (2) is inserted into the plug-in opening (15). A locking element (16) has a rigid, circumferentially closed locking section (160) that extends circumferentially around the at least two contact segments (11) and thereby limits the radial spring travel of the at least two contact segments (11) outwards.
