Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an audio amplifier for amplifying an input signal, which can be applied to an input terminal, into an output signal, which can be output at an output terminal. The audio amplifier comprises a pulse-width modulation (PWM) unit configured to convert an analog signal into an analog PWM signal, and a switching amplifier unit configured to amplify and output the analog PWM signal. The audio amplifier further comprises a digital limiting unit, which is connected upstream of the amplifier unit and is configured to monitor and limit the analog PWM signal.
