Abstract

The invention relates to a method (10) for reducing weld spatter (12) during a welding process carried out by means of a welding device (14), comprising the following steps: - Detecting (26) weld spatter (12) during the welding process by means of at least one sensor device (28, 34); - Determining (38) an actual value of at least one weld spatter parameter by evaluating the detected weld spatter (12); - Determining (42) a value of at least one welding process parameter as a function of the actual value of the at least one weld spatter parameter and a provided target value of the at least one weld spatter parameter; and - Influencing (50) the welding process as a function of the value of the at least one welding process parameter.
