Abstract

A method and apparatus for manufacturing an aerodynamic functional part, e.g., a rotor blade, propeller blade, or wing, with a shell made of a fiber-reinforced polymer matrix is ​​proposed. The method according to the invention comprises the following steps: (a) providing a fiber layer; (b) cutting the fiber layer into a blank forming the total surface area of ​​the shell of the aerodynamic functional part; (c) shaping the fiber layer blank into the shell of the aerodynamic functional part, wherein two opposite longitudinal edges of the blank are arranged side by side, in particular by draping the fiber layer blank in a mold; (d) infiltrating the fiber layer blank formed into the shell of the aerodynamic functional part with a polymeric binder; and (e) curing or solidifying the polymeric binder to form the shell forming the total surface area of ​​the aerodynamic functional part.The invention further relates to an aerodynamic functional part produced in this manner.
