Abstract

A bicycle drive unit (100) comprises a housing (110) having exactly three mounting points (120, 130, 140) for attachment to a bicycle frame, forming a triangle (150). The bicycle drive unit (100) includes a crankshaft (10) and an electric motor (20) within the housing (110) with a stator and a rotor rotatable about a rotor axis of rotation (21). The rotor has a drive gear (22), and the crankshaft (10) has an output gear (12). A transmission shaft (30) rotatable about a transmission shaft axis of rotation (31) is arranged between the rotor axis of rotation (21) and the crankshaft axis of rotation (11). The transmission shaft has a first transmission gear (32) that meshes with the drive gear (22) and a second transmission gear that meshes with the output gear (12).When the bicycle drive unit (100) is attached to the bicycle frame (210), a first mounting point (120) is arranged in the direction of travel (F) in front of a second and a third mounting point of exactly three mounting points (120, 130, 140), the second mounting point (130) is arranged above the third mounting point (140), the first mounting point (120) is arranged in the direction of travel (F) in front of the rotor axis of rotation (21), a first straight line (151) through the first and second mounting points runs above the rotor axis of rotation (21), and a second straight line (152) through the first and third mounting points runs below the rotor axis of rotation (21).
