Swiveling a movable door leaf of a vehicle door

Abstract

The invention relates to the pivoting of a movable door leaf (4) of a vehicle door (3). Depending on an actuating force (F) exerted on the door leaf (4), an electric drive unit (7) is activated to influence the pivoting of the door leaf (4) at least partially between an open position (O) and a closed position (C). When the drive unit (7) is activated, an obstacle detection device (8) is also activated to detect obstacles (H) in a predefined pivoting range (5) of the door leaf (4). When an obstacle (H) is detected in the pivoting range (5), the obstacle detection device (8) performs an object classification algorithm to identify the object class of the detected obstacle (H).Depending on the identified object class, a collision avoidance measure is initiated by means of the obstacle detection device (8) in order to limit an unwanted collision when the door leaf pivots with the detected obstacle (H).
