Abstract

The present invention discloses for the first time a method for manufacturing a sports equipment made of solid wood, such as a baseball bat, a cricket bat or the like, which is point-symmetric in cross-section in the longitudinal direction X with respect to the central axis, for a ball game, at least with the following method steps: manufacturing and / or providing a sports equipment blank made of solid wood; steaming at least one section of the sports equipment blank; and fully radially pressing at least one section of the sports equipment blank.Furthermore, a method for manufacturing a baseball bat is proposed, comprising at least the following steps: manufacturing and / or providing a baseball bat blank (1) from solid wood; steaming at least one section of the baseball bat blank (1); and fully radially pressing at least one part of the shaft (7) of the baseball bat blank (1), in particular the section of the shaft (7) referred to as the "sweet spot". A cover cap for gripping a second end (3) of a baseball bat blank (1), in particular the machining / handling section (9), is also provided.
