Abstract

A system for automatically positioning the steerable wheels of a vehicle parked on an inclined surface includes an automatic driving assistance system (ADAS) controller communicating with multiple sensors, designed to determine that automatic positioning of the vehicle's steerable wheels is appropriate, to calculate a desired steering angle for the vehicle's steerable wheels, to actuate a rack and pinion motor, and to use the rack and pinion motor to position the vehicle's steerable wheels at the desired steering angle.
