Method and device for additive manufacturing using a laser beam

Abstract

According to one aspect of the invention, a method for laser cladding onto a workpiece is provided. The method comprises: feeding a build material by means of a feeding device; shining a laser beam coaxially onto the feeding device to melt the build material; shining a measuring beam offset from the laser beam through a distance measuring device for distance measurement, wherein the distance measuring device comprises a scanner device and a first lens; and adjusting the offset of the measuring beam by adjusting the position of the focal point of the first lens relative to the scanner device such that the measuring beam has a divergent propagation angle after the first lens.
