Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a driver assistance system (100, 200) for a vehicle (10), comprising: - an actuation detection module (210) configured to detect a driver actuation of the brake pedal; - an analysis module (220) configured to determine a driver intention based on the release of the brake pedal actuation; - a traffic situation detection module (230) configured to detect a traffic situation; and - a driving module (240) configured at least for automated longitudinal control of the vehicle (10), wherein the driving module (240) is further configured to perform at least the automated longitudinal control based on the driver intention determined by the analysis module (220) and the traffic situation detected by the traffic situation detection module (230).
