Abstract

A rupture disc (1; 101; 201; 301; 401; 501) is disclosed, designed and configured for closing an opening (18) of a housing or container and for releasing the opening (18) at a predetermined opening pressure. The rupture disc has a disc-like bistable activation surface (4) surrounded by a contact edge (10) to which a circumferential seal (16) is attached or formed. The activation surface (4) is movable by the predetermined opening pressure from a curved closed position, through a dead center, to a curved open position. A side facing the housing to be sealed, referred to as the sealing side, is provided on the activation surface (4) and on the entire rupture disc. At least two snap hooks (12) are formed on the activation surface (4) on this sealing side, adjacent to the seal (16). The seal (16) surrounds the snap hooks (12).The snap hooks have respective features (12a) designed to engage behind the edge surrounding the opening (18). The features (12a) clamp the edge of the opening (18) together with the seal (16) when the activation surface (4) is in the closed position.
