Abstract

Operating device (130) with an operating lever (131) and with a magnetorheological braking device (1) having two braking components (2, 3), wherein the two braking components (2, 3) are movable relative to each other and define an axial direction (20). Between the first and the second braking component (2, 3) a gap (5) is formed, at least partially filled with a magnetorheological medium (6), with at least one effective gap section (5c) extending between the braking components (2, 3). The effective gap section (5c) is exposed to a magnetic field (8) of a magnetic device (28) in order to effect a braking effect on the relative movement of the two braking components (2, 3) relative to each other. Rotatable transmission components (11) are arranged in the gap (5) to amplify the braking effect.
