CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SWITCH CONVERTER

Abstract

Control system for a switching converter having a first power switch, wherein the control system has a control module having a sensing terminal for receiving a sensing terminal voltage, a gate terminal for providing a gate driver signal for controlling the switching of the first power switch, wherein the control module is configured to operate in a first mode in which the control module is configured to i) compare the sensing terminal voltage with a peak threshold voltage, and ii) provide the gate driver signal to switch the first power switch to an off state when the sensing terminal voltage and the peak threshold voltage are approximately equal, and to operate in a second mode in which the control module is configured to i) detect a voltage characteristic of the sensing terminal voltage,and ii) to provide the gate driver signal to switch the first power switch to an on state after a delay time has elapsed following the detection of the voltage characteristic of the measuring terminal voltage.
