Abstract

The invention relates to a method (10) for controlling the speed of a pump (12) that generates a cooling fluid flow rate (14) in a cooling circuit (16) in which the pump (12) and at least one component (18, 20, 22, 24) to be cooled of a laser processing device (26) are arranged, comprising the following steps: - Determining an actual value of a temperature difference between a first temperature in a return line (30) in the cooling circuit (16) and a second temperature in a supply line (32) in the cooling circuit (16) to the respective component (18, 20, 22, 24); - Providing a setpoint value of the temperature difference; - Calculating a control deviation as a function of the actual value and the setpoint value; and - Controlling the speed of the pump (12) as a function of the control deviation.
