Abstract

The invention relates to a flame arrestor (10') comprising an outer shell (12) and a flow body (14), wherein the outer shell (12) defines an axial direction, wherein the flow body (14) has a plurality of channels through which fluid can flow, which extend substantially in the axial direction from a first end face of the flow body (14) to a second end face of the flow body (14), wherein at least some, in particular all, of the channels of the flow body (14) are formed by arranging at least one layer of metal sheeting next to or on top of each other, wherein the one layer of metal sheeting or, in the case of a plurality of metal sheeting layers, at least one of the plurality of metal sheeting layers is formed at least sectionally, wherein the flame arrestor (10') comprises a deflecting element (32, 38),which deflects the fluid exiting the flow body (14) from the axial flow direction into a radial flow direction.
