Gas bag package for a vehicle occupant restraint system

Abstract

A gas bag package (1) for a vehicle occupant restraint system is proposed, comprising a folded gas bag (3) and several longitudinally extending mounting sections (4) for installation on a vehicle body (2). At least one mounting section (4) is assigned an alignment element (5, 5A) for changing the unfolding direction of the folded gas bag (3), at least in sections. Furthermore, a gas bag module is proposed, comprising the gas bag package (1) and a gas generator for supplying inflation gas to the gas bag package (1). Additionally, a vehicle occupant restraint system is proposed, comprising the gas bag package (1) and / or the gas bag module, as well as at least one sensor unit for detecting circumstances that trigger activation of the gas generator, and an electronic processing unit for defining the activation scenario based on the circumstances detected by the sensor unit.
