Tool for an assembly robot

Abstract

A tool (1) for an assembly robot (2) is provided for the automated assembly of a valve into a valve hole bore of a wheel rim (8). The tool (1) comprises a gripping device (4) designed to hold and insert the valve into the valve hole bore and a sensor device (6) designed to detect geometric data of the valve hole bore relative to the wheel rim (8), wherein the tool (1) is reversibly mountable on a free end of the arm of the assembly robot (2), and wherein each of the aforementioned devices is positionable relative to the valve hole bore to perform its respective function.
