Procedure for calibrating the headlights of a vehicle

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for calibrating the headlights of a vehicle, wherein the vehicle has at least one optical sensor, in particular a camera, comprising the following steps: - Generating (S1) a light projection (3) by means of at least one headlight, wherein the light projection (3) has a predefined calibration pattern (1); - Recording (S2) an area in front of the vehicle by means of the optical sensor, wherein the area has the light projection (3); - Defining (S3) a search area in the recording of the optical sensor, wherein the defined search area (3a) essentially corresponds to the calibration pattern (1); - Evaluating (S4) the defined search area (3a); - Estimating (S5) the orientation of the at least one headlight based on the evaluation of the calibration pattern (1).
