Abstract

Device (1) for pressing a cell stack (2) from several cell plates (3) for a battery, in particular a high-voltage battery (4), comprising a collet (9) with at least two clamping jaws (8), end plates (5) with recesses (6) for receiving clamping forces of the clamping jaws (8), a mechanical adjustment unit (11) for axial adjustment of the collet (9) along an axis (10) of the cell stack (2) and at least one holding device (15) for holding the cell stack (2) during pressing, wherein the collet (9) is configured to press the cell stack (2) together to a defined length driven by an actuator (22), wherein the recesses (6) in the end plates (5) are shaped such thatthat the most uniform possible force application during pressing is enabled by a pressing force (7) on the cells of the cell stack (2) and that the clamping jaws (8) of the collet (9) can be released from the recesses (6) after the cell stack (2) has been inserted into a battery tray (19).
